Who can participate in this project?
This project is for family and friends of all Indigenous people who have been killed by any form of violence inflicted by law enforcement.
Once I have decided that I would like to participate in this project, what do I need to do?
Step 1: Click on the Sign Up button and fill out the application, Step 2: Samantha will reach out to you via email or phone to arrange a time to meet up. Step 3: Bring a large framed photo of your loved one to the prearranged photo session; all friends and family are encouraged to participate. Traditional wear is welcomed.
What if no one can meet at the exact location where my loved one was killed for the photo session?
If the location your loved one was killed is not easily accessible to you, please click on the Sign Up button, fill out the application, and make a note in the comment section. Samantha is able to modify the project so that anyone that wants to participate can.
What will happen with the photos?
The first stage of the project, meeting with families will take approximately two years. The second stage of the project will include compiling the photos into a book, as well as distributing the photos on social media, and showcasing them in cafes and museum exhibits. The goal is to showcase the photos and distribute them as widely as possible to help raise awareness.
